She Get it From Her Mama

So.... I know you all are anxiously awaiting the photos from our ultrasound on Thursday. Well, little miss Harper seems to be a stubborn little girl and insisted on still having those knees literally touching her nose. Although she wasn't supposed to, the ultrasound tech printed off two microscopic pictures for me to show everyone and scheduled round three in hopes of getting a better look. As I was reading through one of my baby magazines last night it stated that around 28 weeks the baby gets into the typical fetal position -- knees to the chest -- and I thought, well this must indicate that she's just ahead of the game, still measuring early and probably long like her handsome daddy.

Below the 2D is just a profile pic and the 3D is her face on the right and her beautiful knee on the left. Even though we weren't able to get a full view of her face, I'm sure the world noticed as Grant and I fell deeper in love with God's miracle. He has chosen such a beautiful little girl for us and we are so very proud!

Grant and I are still getting ready for Harper's arrival. Each weekend we try to take one project at a time and really organize things. I even have my label maker here, lol. I'm such a nerd -- I know.

Clear Channel has kept Grant very busy these days however he has been so good about balancing work and family and for that I am forever grateful. I personally know how easy it is to let work consume your entire life.

We have an OB check tomorrow then another ultrasound scheduled for August 31st and Sept 3rd. Hopefully will have some fun info to share with you then.

Love, love.

Taco Baby

Today we went to Peek-a-Baby to get our 3D ultrasound. Mom, Ashley and Grant and I went to grab a bite for lunch and have a little caffiene to get her awake and kicking. We were going to finally verfiy that Harper had in deed not sprouted anything between her legs since our 17 week ultrasound. I was hoping she was still a girl as I had brainlessly ordered the fabric for her bedding yesterday - I'm waay too anxious!! The technician started the session and low and behold Harper was in deed still a girl. Whew! We spent the next 45 mins attempting to get a good shot of her face but the little turkey had her hands and feet up by her face -- folded in half like a taco. We poked, proded, layed on my side, touched my toes, drank cold water and so on and still nothing. We did however get to see her yawn and open her eyes and everyone in unison said "awwww!". So.... we are scheduled for a redo next Thursday, August 20 at 6 pm. Just in case anyone wants to come :) Hopefully next time she'll cooperate and we'll get to bring home some good pics.

Love to all!

Let's get organized!

So, lately I have felt the need to be VERY organized. I have cleaned up every lingering item in my office (my maternity leave will be so grateful), scheduled a photo session for my maternity pics as well as Harper's newborn pics and our 3D/4D ultrasound. I think it's my way of curving the itch to get the nursery done. Ah, the good ole nursery.... When we moved we made that our "dump" room. Anything that we didn't need to use immediately got dumped there, Allie's garage sale pile got dumped there and last but not least anything that my lovely husband packed got dumped there. Why did anything Grant packed go in the room you ask? Let me give you a nice visual..... Grant's way of packing the oh so organized medicine cabinet was taking his two giant arms and "carefully" scooping everything into an open plastic bin. Now you see why it's in the dump room? While I might sound a little whiny about the dump room, I really just have to laugh at the Grantisms.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day!

We are moved!

As you can probably tell we have not had internet service up and running at the house and I haven’t taken the time to blog at the office as I am today. Shhh, don’t tell……

A lot has occurred since my last post. We moved and have surprisingly enough unpacked and organized the majority of our stuff. The move was quite a task and very hard for me not to participate in. Grant, being the wonderful husband that he is, was on top of everything and worked his tail off. Moving in July is not something I would recommend to anyone but we both agree that it was well worth it!

Mom, Landon, Ryan and I headed to Galveston and hung out at the San Luis for a couple of days. It was very relaxing and some much needed R & R. Although it was hot, we hung out by the pool a lot so I was able to cool off when needed. I had not been to Galveston since Ike so it was nice to see all of the changes happening. The city and Seawall are really coming around.

Grant and I celebrated our first anniversary this past weekend on August 1st and it was really nice. We had a fabulous dinner and of course the best company – each other! Somehow I have managed to snag the best husband in the world!!

We have been back to see Dr. P a couple of times since my last post. One was for pre-term labor symptoms I was having. He ended up running a fetal fibronectin test which detects the protein Fetal fibronectin that is produced 2 weeks prior to delivery and it came back negative so we were relieved. Today we went to see Dr. P for an OB check and of course get my Monday morning shot. Harper is still measuring ahead of schedule so we’ll have an ultrasound and the lovely glucose screening on August 31st to check everything out. I also had a bout of high blood pressure this morning so he will continue to keep an eye on that. So far, I have gained 11 pounds in 6 ½ months so I’m pretty happy with that. Harper should have some significant gains beginning next week so hopefully that doesn’t add another 30 pounds ha, ha. Harper weighs around a pound and half and is about 14” long. She is extremely active and loves to climb up into my rib cage. Grant and I will begin our labor classes in a few weeks so that should be fun and interesting.

More later!
