6 Weeks and counting

Photobucket

A month and half has blown by for me but not without this baby letting me know it's here. This week has been the worst! Forget the morning sickness, let's try all day sickness or keep the fan blowing on me like a dog hanging outside a car window or how about let's eat everything in the pantry to try and remedy my aching belly or what about going to bed every night by 8:30pm? Wow! Above all else, I am so grateful the Lord is forming this precious baby in my womb and what a miracle it is.

Our first appointment went well and everything is measuring like it is supposed to. We go back on April 9th for an ultrasound then again on April 27th. Hopefully to hear a strong heartbeat and see a little more than what's in the picture below.

Turkey anyone?

Thought I would throw in a short blog before the rainy, gloomy weekend here.

Grant and I have had some life changing experiences over the past few weeks and boy does it feel good. As of last Sunday we are officially members of Second Baptist Church. It was a moment I will never forget.... We also have enrolled in a wonderful Sunday School Class called Nearly Wed and Newly Wed. We quickly discovered how resourceful it is going to be for our marriage; not to mention the support of newly wed Christian couples. Last Sunday we walked out of church saying “We’re never going to make it without being here”. A spiritual relationship has been the missing link in our marriage and I'm glad that we are wise enough to see it and are engaged in learning about this new venture for our marriage.

God is so good and works in mysterious ways, doesn’t he?

I’ve also come to realize that God’s timing is so perfect. After the hustle and bustle of the wedding and Grant and I getting our spiritual lives on track, we got the wonderful news that we’re pregnant! I had lab work done this morning and the nurse called me early afternoon to say my numbers look fabulous. Needless to say, we are ecstatic!!! The ladies at my office and I were jumping up and down in the middle of a conference call meeting today, celebrating. I go back on Monday to do another run of lab work and then an ultrasound in a couple weeks.

Please continue to pray for us as we go through the journey of rededicating our lives to Christ and for the wonderful gift that he’s given our family.

We love you!

So Blessed

Things have been quite hectic over the past few weeks for the Nail household. My baby sister, Allie, is getting married tomorrow and mom and I have been diligently planning and coordinating to make it a very special day. I can’t wait to see everything pulled together. Not to mention, see Allie all made up in her beautiful wedding dress.

Grant and I are enjoying each other and almost have our house complete with furniture and decorating (gasp). Although I don’t know if I’m ever done decorating! We have also begun attending church services at Second Baptist and are attending a new members dinner next week. Please pray for God to open our hearts and minds and encourage us to find the right church to call our home.

We had the pleasure of attending a very special baptism last week for Maverick Austin Law. He has the best parents a child could ever ask for.

This and That

February is almost here but most of all I can’t believe that Grant and I have been married for 6 months! Words cannot describe the joy I feel when I think about the greatest gift Grant and I received this year, each other. Our marriage is a living testament of God's grace in our lives. I can't wait to see what the future holds for us, but then again I can...time is passing too quickly.

Grant and I are both doing very well. He has recently survived a nationwide layoff... Go Grant! Clear Channel has been very good to us and it seems to be a very appealing and enjoyable job. Not to mention, the new friends and many activities that Grant has gotten involved in. I’ll have to update you on his bowling stats next time as his league starts today. We did have a fun practice round a week ago!

I FINALLY sold my Lexus to a sweet young man so that was exciting news for us this past weekend. I'm sure Grant's trusty salesman skills aided in the purchase. He's good at selling anyone anything, except me of course. Ha, ha!

I hope this finds everyone doing well! xo

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We had fun getting to hang out with the fams, and the presents weren’t so bad either :). Magical things happen at Christmas time, I tell you.

We celebrated Shelby's first birthday on Christmas eve... my has the year flown by. It feels like it was just a couple months ago where Harley and she were the same size. Of course, crafty Krystal whipped up a party hat for her to sport in her 1 year pictures! She thoroughly enjoyed it; at least that's what I'd like to tell myself.

I'll have to say that I will miss my days at home once I head back to work. I am able to accomplish quite a bit when Grant is at the office and most of all it makes me feel good to get organized. I am finally back into a routine of hitting the trails at Memorial Park and that feels pretty good. Lately, I have turned the bedroom tv off early (gasp) to read my latest book- Something Blue by Emily Giffin that Dad and Irene bought me. I wouldn't exactly call it "deep" reading, but hey, it probably beats mindlessly sitting in front of the tv, right? Right?! And for the record, I finished the book in 3 nights.

Anyway, we rang in the New Year with our favorite couple Melissa and Marshall. It was an 80's themed party and was lots of fun! Melissa entertained us with her solo to Maniac, which Chris insisted on waiting to play after midnight. 2 am crept up pretty quickly and I was done for the evening. It’s fun being old and married :o)
